hello, does (sec^2y)/(tany)=1/(siny.cosy) ? if so, does anyone know a good website which can demonstrate the proof of this identity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rewrite everything in terms of sine and cosine and it will pop right out. try it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sec^2y=1^2/cos^y, and tany=siny/cosy... got it thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seems so simple

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that usually works for many of these. sometimes you have to use a different identity but it often involves rewriting as sine and cosine and using simple algebra
