How to graph this system of inequalities? 2x + 5y > 10 x - y < 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How come you get these many questions at a time? are you a math instructor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats wrong picture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think thats wrong....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

draw the graph of 2x+5y=10 and x-y=3 ... the area above 2x+5y line and below x-y constitute the points satisfyin the inequalities .. the lines meet at x=25/7, y=4/7 which shouldnt b included . . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D.K i exactly did that...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea my net s slow so i didnt see your reply :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are the lines dotted or solid? And this is an assignment, kish.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both are strict inequalities, so no lines will be solid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gave just a rough model......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and sorry elecengineer.....

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

There are two problems with your solution dipankar. First the line corresponding to \(2x+5y = 10\) must have negative slope, second the area lies above it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...i changed the solution....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for helping nowhereman

OpenStudy (nowhereman):

ah yes, I didn't see your correction previously :-)

by the way come in chat box. we can talk....
