Differentiate the following function. f(x)=9x^7-9sinx...I got my answer to be 63x^6+9cosx..im not sure where i got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the - sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

63x^6-99cosx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9cosx*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the derivative of sine is cosine. the derivative of -sine is - cosine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just forgot the minus sign. thats all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what rubin said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, its an addition (of a negative :P) so you can just do it term by term.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is right..just gotta reverse the sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The derivative of sin(x) is cos(x) so you don't need to flip the sign :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thanks again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :P As many as you need, calculus <333 lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

However, I won't be able to help you again for about 45 minutes. Because I am being called away. But I shall return xP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you should help with everything!! i understand it but the only thing i get stuck on is you know like the ln fucntion and all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok : )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I can explain that to you no problem :) Just give me a bit :P Try a bunch of them and then I can help you check them or explain them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
