OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x(x+2)(x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor out an x: x(-2x^2-10x-12) Then a -2: -2x(x^2+5x+6) then the quadratic: -2x(x+2)(x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both very much!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another factor question: x3+13x2+42x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with the x again: x(x^2+13x^2+42) Then the quadratic: x(x+6)(x+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do you always start with the x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That should read :x(x^2+13x+42)** Yes. The easiest common factor of all of them. Unlike the last one, there is no number that factors out nicely (like the two in the first one).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so then 5x2-16x+12 is 5x(x+8)(x-4) then?
