in this problem a rectangle is shown two corners of it have coordinates already (3,9) (-1,3) it wants me to find a third corners coordinates using that How?

Hoot! You just asked your first question! Hang tight while I find people to answer it for you. You can thank people who give you good answers by clicking the 'Good Answer' button on the right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the line between those points a diagonal of the rectangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even so there isnt enough information from two points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Weird its on my test prep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are the sides parallel and perpendicular to the x and y axes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its just a rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh, well you can draw a lot of rectangles form those two points but there is only one where the sides are perpendicular and parallel to the axes. The lower right corner will have the x coord of the upper right corner and the y coord of the lower right corner so it is (3,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the upper left corner has the upper right y coord and the lower left x coord so it is (-1,9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is why I said you can draw several rectangles. See the attachment I drew another rectangle through (3,9) and (-1,3)
