what is Communism?
from those without need to those with need... only to an extreme
basically, in theory it is the enforcement of that as an ideology.. it's like.. okay.. so let's take all of a nations resources and make everyone equal, per capita...
in short, it's economic equality along with all of our ideal of equality as well.. or the in the bad cases (most cases, because communism is a failed ideology like conservative america is) .. in the bad cases... this often involves the stripping of democratic rights or humanitarian rights in order to enforce economic equality
you're welcome :D
the basic idea of communism is to share all goods amongst all humans so everyone is able to get what he needs. in theory, there should be no use for property rights anymore because all are working together and everyone just takes what he needs so theres enough of everything for everyone. in reality it didnt work out that well. some states tried "socialism", which is thought of as a prestate on the way to communism but it ended almost always in dictatorship and economic failure. there are some reasons for it: at first, you need everyone to work for the system without immediate reward. in capitalism you are paid for the quality of your work and therefore rewarded if you work hard. in communism the idea is that everyone gets all he wants (in socialism not exactly, but everyone should get the same amount of money) so theres no reason to work hard. it turned out that many of the people didnt work that hard in socialism and so they didnt produce as many goods as in capitalism and so there wasnt enough. even worse was that there was like no reward for inventions or efficiency which didnt help much either... then we have the economy plans which told the people (/factories...) how much of which good they had to produce. they were sometimes made for 5 years, but they often under- or overestimated the need for a product in this time so that there were almost always some products which werent in enough quantity for all. these economy problems often made people leave the land. as that further weakened the nations, they often were forbidden to leave the land. this lead to very tense atmospheres in most socialist countries and the governments, which most often secured their leadership tightly and established a kind of dictatorship often built powerful secret services like the Eastern German STASI which were feared by the citizens. revolutions were often violently crushed (see Tian'anmen in china). in the end most socialist states either had to give up to revolutions or bankruptcy or they had to open their economy to capitalism like china. in my opinion communism is a wonderful idea but human character and egoism make it impossible.
