Note that for the law of sines you must have a ratio of side to opposite angle for two pairs; in this case, you have an angle surrounded by two sides. You would use the law of cosines in this case, \[x^2=a^2+b^2+2abcos(X)\] or \[x^2=17^2+22^2+2*17*22*\cos42\]
