solve t/2-2/t=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The common denominator is 2t, so multiply the first equation by t/t and the second by 2/2 and you get \[t^2/2t-4/2t=0\] \[(t^2-4)/2t=0\] Now if we multiply both sides by 2t we see that the right side is still 0. \[t^2-4=0\] So solving the quadratic formula gives, t=2, -2
