(2x^3-6x^2+3x) divided by (3x) i got 6x^2-2x^3+x..?????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you factor out x on top, x(2x^2-6x+3) the x would eliminate with the x on the bottom, then divide each term by 3 and you get: \[\frac{2}{3} x^2-2x+1\]

The old fashioned way: What do you multiply by 3x to give you 2x^3 (2/3)x^2 What do you multiply by 3x to give you -6x^2 (-2)x What do you multiply by 3x to give you 3x (1)
