can anybody help me please ? graph the equation by plotting 3 points 2y=-x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

re-write this in slope/y-int form: y=(-1/2)x+1 So two obvious points are the y-intercept (0,1) and the x-intercept (2,0). This is already enough to draw the line. Just plot these two points and draw a line through them. If your teacher is an idiot and demands a third point then pick any x value and solve for y. example for x=1 you have y=(-1/2)(1)+1=1/2 so a third point is (1, 1/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it cant be 1 and 1 half it has to be a whole

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1, 1/2) it cant be that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well (1, 1/2) is on the line but so is (4,1) if that's less complex...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooops meant (4,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was wrong?

keep in mind that there are an infinite number of points on the line so there is not a unique solution to this question.
