In your case it is b^{8/9 + 5/2} = b^{61/18}
What are you multiplying by to get 61?
=b^(61/18)
8/9 + 5/2 = (2*8 + 9*5)/2*9

How did you get the number 61? I see that 9*2 is 18, but 8*5 is 40 not 61

i think I get it. you cross multiply the fractions then have it over the y?
