Find the solution to the following system of inequalities by graphing. -4x + -8y > 16 x + -2y < 20

First, pretend you are graphing two lines.. change each of the two temporary equations into slope-intercept form. Notice that the actual inequalities do not include equality; so graph the two lines with dotted lines to indicate that they are not part of the solution. then pick a test point. I usually like to use (0,0) unless it is on one of the lines. Check to see if that point is a solution to the system. If it is, the entire region represents solutions.
