in a triangle two sides that measure 6cm and 10cm form an angle that measures 80 degrees. Find to the nearest degree measure of smallest angle of triangle. I found the remaining side was 12 using law of cosines, then tried to use law of sine to find remaining angle but it's not working out, help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the smallest angle will be opposite the smallest side, 6cm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i figured that part out but when i plugged in 12 / sin 80 = 6 / sin x and solved to find the degree it came out to a negative number, so im not sure what i'm doing wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait i figured out what i was doing wrong, thanks for the help tho!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got sin of angle = 0.4924

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah and then you change do sin^-1 (.4924 etc) to get the degress but stupid me had my calculator in radians mode...bleh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ! ok
