hey guys, im so sorry about askin this question here, kinda desperate for an answer lol :D Well I hope you're all doing well. Alright so, I would like to pursue a masters degree soon, in the field of environment. So there are a few programs I have in mind: environmental engineering, environmental science and energy studies. which one do you think is the best program to pursue: 1)environmental engineering 2)environmental science 3)energy studies Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it :)

OpenStudy (radar):

Just my opinion but energy studies is where there is definitely an area where research and development is needed.

don't look at the masters as simply the name. investigate what exactly you want to do with it go into an energy job ? work in rsearch and dev ? get a phd ? work for shell ? write academic papers ? then get more info on each course see the trend in colleges over the last 5 years to see if the course is becoming popular hence more opportunities study what previous students have done with it etc... :)

ok, thank you radar....yeah that is very interesting, all three fields are pretty interesting, i just wish I could find out which one has a brighter future in terms of job opportunities and everything.

you can never tell what the prospects will be like in 5 - 10 years. you could complete the best degree , get a crap job, and your prospects be good enough to work at starbucks (no disrespect to starbucks ;)) you could do a crappy degree, get a great job and in 5 years run your own energy research company... so... as i say... look at successful people in your field. where do you want to be in 5years, see what the guys you admire have done and follow that :)

That is very true mattheyj, you just never know these days i'll definitely take ur suggestion and research a bit before making the final decision, thanks :)
