how do you factor Polynomials? I know theres many different examples ? Is it just breaking the problem down into its prime numbers?

OpenStudy (tad1):

No. Break it down into prime monomials. First look for common terms. Factor those out. Count how many terms you have. If there are 4, factoring by grouping often works. If there are three terms and the equation in a quadrilateral, try factoring or use the quadratic formula. there are also formulas for the sum and difference of perfect cubes.

Okay,Thank you so much !

So the answer to 8p3 + 1 would be (2p + 1)(4p2 - 2p + 1)
