Which of the following statements is true about the movement of sound waves? A. they can only travel through a vacuum B. they can travel through air only C. they can only travel through a medium D. they travel fastest in gaseous mediums
C, i think.
infact, C is.
I second
coz sound waves need medium.
waves vibrate the medium molecules to propogate!
I got it! ..... It's E :D
propagate
i got u all beat. it's chemical X
Dang! got me there >_<
its not kraken,, i know soundwaves go at about 300m/s through air, and about 1200 m/s (meters per second) through some rocks. so its still C ivy pick c and move on.
Okay (:
i propose the notion of the answer being chemical X that is all
vacuum's dont count as mediums... so it should say pick the false one that hasn't been invented yet but although maybe could be hasn't not itn't
it has so been invented. i mean, how else would the powerpuff girls have been born?
Creepy get back in chat! -_-
There is no sound in a vacuum. If you use v=f*(wavelength), it makes since that the type of medium doesn't affect speed since there is no variable for "medium" in the equation for speed. Your best bet, (the correct answer) is indeed C.
There is no sound in a vacuum because there are no air molecules to move. Sound is a longitudinal wave, meaning it moves through pressure variations (i.e. by moving air particles). Longitudinal means the direction of the pulse and direction of travel are the same btw.
