anytime i have a set up of y=-5x+1 it is (-infi,+infi) in interval not. why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since it is a linear graph, it will eventually reach (-inf,+inf), so, yes, it is in the interval.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i get that u can plug anything into x and y which is why it will reach inf. but plug into x to equal what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it just an automatic when i see this set up in this type of prob that the answer will b (-infi,+infi)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless there are predefined limits, a linear graph's domain is always (-inf,+inf). this explains it more: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081208081025AAHFvaZ
