Anybody know if I can i say 你想在哪儿吃? or do i have to say 你想去哪儿吃?
Both mean "Where do you want to eat?"
Yes I know, but are both grammatically correct?
Yes, both are grammatically correct. But the second one is used more often. 在 means “ you want to be somewhere”. 去means “ to go somewhere”. Not much of difference.
great, thanks!
as a chinese , i could tell you the two sentences is the same.
almost the same
Actually, Chinese has no specific grammar mistakes. Unless what you said messed up the whole meaning or used the wrong word or the wrong comma.
你想去哪吃 means you have to go out(and it may take a while) to eat. 你想在哪吃 means you're asking a more specific place to have you guys' cuisine.
你想去哪吃 means where do you wanna go to eat while 你想在哪吃 means where or which table or room do you wanna eat at. depending on the circurmstances, both can mean the same or one way the other.
