OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh oh i'll type it again here then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Triangle PQR has vertices P(-1,3), Q(1,2), and R(-2,-1). When Triangle PQR is reflected over the line y=-2, what are the coordinates of P?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) (-1,-3) B) (-1,-7) C) (-2,-2) D) (-3,-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

P(-1,-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should draw it, that'll make it a lot clearer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because when you reflect it over the line you take the distance between the point and the line which would be 5 for Y and it wouldn't change for X because you are only change the Y. since it is 5 for Y you just go down 5 points from the line which would mean Y=-7 and then keep the same X which would mean X=-1 so (-1,-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thankyou.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3 + y)/2 = -2 -> y is -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{4789}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry its not supposed to go here..wrong place sorry
