let's see
OpenStudy (anonymous):
D = integral of velocity = Int ( 3t - 10 ) = int ( 3t^2/2 - 10t )
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait sorry
D = 3t^2/2 - 10t +C
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Actually we got limits of integration so:
3t^2/2 - 10t from 0 to 4

3*16/2 - 40 = 3*8-40 = 24-40 = -16
OpenStudy (anonymous):
first one is
\[\int_0^4 3-10tdt\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3t - 10 satellite u're wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Integral, impressive. That is correct
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol now 2nd one:
We gotta check where it changed directions..

try just 16
OpenStudy (anonymous):
cuz usually distance is abs(disp)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oops
OpenStudy (anonymous):
would help if i could read wouldn't it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i think so..

16's not right :/
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah it is -16
OpenStudy (anonymous):
aww i knew it wouldn't be that simple..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Nope it isnt -16 either
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what?

No he is talking about part 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah i'm talking about part 2. Integral got the answer for part 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh part two you have to break it up into two pieces
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oaky do this:
3t-10=0
3t=10
t = 10/3 and split the limits at 10/3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So it's from 0 to 10/3 and 10/3 to 4. Then evaluate individual integrals and add the abs values of those two numbers.

Satellite is what im doing right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah, is that the right way to do it, satellite? and do you have an answer Integral?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
what integral said. you need
\[\int_0^{\frac{10}{3}}10-3t dt+\int_{\frac{10}{3}}^43t-10dt\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes what integral said.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
abs(-50/3) + abs(2/3) = 50/3 + 2/3 = 52/3
