how do i graph 1/2x+y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/(2x+y) or (1/2x) + y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -(1/2)x + 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The graph is a straight line. To graph pick two points which this equation satisfies and draw a straight line through them. For example (0,4) and (2,2).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is in the form of y = ax+b where b is the y=intercept and a = value of slope. first. you draw a point at the y-intercept. this is where x = 0. since the slope is less than 1, we know that the y values get smaller. this means we know our graph will go downwards. move as many units to the right as the numerator (1) move as many units up or down (positive or negative) as the denominator (-2) were the slope = -3. youd go 3 right 1 down; slope = 5: 5 right, 1 up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is a point of the graph every time you move the value of the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Set x = 0, find y Set y = 0 find x Now you have 2 points, draw aline through them.
