Multiply the first equation by -2 and multiply the second equation by 3

i really dont see why any of the last three is better than the others

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless i've missed something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is he right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your elminating x so the last choice is the best. Although you could use other choices to eliminate the y variable, you can eliminate the x only by the last choice.

lets go thru them one by one first one will give -6x in each equn. and you subtract second ............... 6x ............................................... third...................... -6x in first equn. and 6x in second and you add i suppose its a bit easier to add where negatives are involved - maybe he is right but its a dubious point
