Solve the following quadratic equation. Write all roots in the form a + b i 3x2 + 2x + 1 = 0...I'm not seeing how to put this in a + bi form....the i refers to the sqrt-1 thing I believe...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like I solved this equations using the quadratic formula...got (-1 +/- 2*sqrt2i)/3..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I can't solve it by simple factoring..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm stumped about the instructions to write it in a+bi form...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops..disregard everything I said..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that answer I got was for a different problem I was working on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that had the same instructions and format as the one I posted...pretty much..

OpenStudy (phi):

\[-1/3 + i \sqrt{2}/3 and -1/3 - i \sqrt{2}/3\]
