The Willis (formerly called \Sears") tower is 527 m tall. What pressure must the water at the base of the tower be at in order to just barely make it to the top of the tower? (Hint: the top of the pipe is open to the atmosphere; ignore the change in atmospheric pressure with height. Answer: 52 atm How was this solved?

Simple thought: Each 10 meters of water in a column gives a pressure equivalent to 1 atm so to reach this height with water you need height/10 atms.
