Why is it surprising that the animals of the deep-sea vents can survive? A. The sulfur-filled fluid that comes from the vents is lethal to some animals. B. The bacteria they eat make most animals sick. C. The food that animals eat usually needs light to grow.
:)
I see we've moved to general science. What do you think the answer is?
honestly i have no idea.. lol im thinkin maybe c?
Well the animals are thriving at the bottoms of the sea in complete darkness, so we wouldn't expect their food source to need light to grow. So if we eliminate C, we have two choices..
a?
A is correct! The mineral levels from the vents are usual at toxic levels for most animals, that's what makes it surprising.
