How would you factor the following problem? 9z^2 + 25 + 30z^13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

z^13?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You'll have to factor out the greatest common factor, and for this it's probably going to be something like 3z^2. Not much can be done with the 25 though I'm afraid.

z to the power of 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see that, but it's yucky ;p

i know....lol

goin nuts

It isn't fully factorable is what I'm sayin. You have a few different ways you can factor it. You can either pull a factor of 5 from the 25 and the 30z^13, or you can pull a factor of 3z^2 from the 9z^2 and the 30z^13. But you can't do both, and you can't do anything with the their term in either of these options.
