really bad at trig so im sure i messed up somewhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tan^2(x) = sec^2(x) -1 but you forgot to integrate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya.. im not that good with integrating trig

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or finding antiderivitive i should say

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it's a toughie, but once you take calculus 2 you'll get more used to it. so your integral should be be evaluating tan(x) - x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got 1-(pi/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you integrate a trig function, you have to think "is there a way to find something in which i can integrate". A lot of the time you can just use cos^2x +sin^2x = 1. In calculus 2 you'll find other ways such as double angles and stuff. But as for your answer, it is correct. I checked it on my calculator
