a radio tranmission tower id 180 feet tall. how long should a guy wire be if it is to be attached 12 feet ffrom the top and is to make an angle 25 degrees with the ground...give ur answer to the nearest tenth of a foot... help me step b step please...

This is a simple drawing and let y be the length that we will be using for the right triangle. y= 180 ft.- 12 ft. = 168 ft. Now since it's a right angle triangle, use SOHCAHTOA. You're given the angle and you found the opposite side. You just need the hypotenuse. So we use sin(25) = 168 ft. / x Rearrange and we get x = 168 ft. / sin(25) = 397.52 ft.
