In radioactivity, is the gamma rays produced alongside alpha and beta particles? And is it that the gamma ray is the heat that accompany the disintegration?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not far away from that, imenekeffe. Gamma rays are "electromagnetic radiation", we fancily say, a form of light beyond the visible spectrum. The EMR is made up of v energetic photons. So while it is not strictly speaking right to just call it "heat", it is how the extra energy is emitted after the other types of decay have happened.
