what is (7.4x10^-9 ) x (5x 10^-3) symplified in scientific notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

asked already? multiply $7.4\times 5$ then add the exponents $-9+-3$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get $37\times 10^{-12}$ but it is not in scientific notation now, because $37>10$ so you have to replace 37 by 3.7 and make the answer $3.7\times 10^{-11}$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.5x10^-11is what ithought but that was not a choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the number out front should be 3.7
