sorry but need help again with finding domain with y= ln (2x-12) in interval notation. the ln throws me off

OpenStudy (amistre64):

notice that it is of the ln(x) family

OpenStudy (amistre64):

get the 2 off there by dividing it out to see how "x" itself is modified

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y = ln[ 2(x-6) ] right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the domain is the same as the domain for ln(x), but add 6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

dom ln(x) = (0,inf) +6+6 ------ (6,inf) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i got, however for some reason my answerkey has (2, infinty)????? could be error?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

could be, or i could have not remembered right ... both are highly probable

OpenStudy (amistre64):

2x-12 > 0 2x > 12 x > 6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you got a teacher, ask about it; or wait around for someone smater than me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thanks i appreciate it your time
