how can i get the gcf of # 42 because i am getting confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you cannot have the greatest common factor of one number. math does not waste words so "greatest common factor" means 1) a factor 2) that is common 3) to two or more numbers or terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also of course the "greatest one"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see that earlier you had 16 and 42. is this what you need the greatest common factor of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is the answer
