tell you what you wanna do first, lets factor out 3x^3 okay
OpenStudy (anonymous):
6x3? or 6x^3?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3x^3(x^2-8x+2)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the from here, what you wanna do is use the quadratic formula to factor the inside, the stuff thats in the parentheses. You will use these values: a=1,b=-8 and c=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but dont worry about doing that cause i you wanted was to factor it, and we did

6x^3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3x^5 - 24x^4 + 6x^3
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
\[\large 3x^5 - 24x^4 + 6x^3=3x^3(x^2-8x+2)\]

If you have trouble factoring, the method you were taught in 6th grade will always get you the right answer... 3x^5 becomes 3*x*x*x*x*x... it's a bit slow and not recommended if you're proficient enough to *intuit* the factorized form, but otherwise a reliable method

What I did was factor out the GCF 3x^3

I'm just informing her of a method that would come more naturally to her since she seems to have trouble with factoring
