What is J(11)? What does it mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean \(J_{11}(x)\) the Bessel function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

I'm learning functions and function notation. J is the variable that stands for Julia and 11 is the her age. J is the input i guess and 11 is the output. on the paper it says, " The notation J(x) is typically read " J of x," but thinking " J at x" is also useful since J(2) can be interpreted as "height at age 2," for example.
