Could you help me factor 4x^2-15x+14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tried to use the "root b^2-4*b*c"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can also complete the square

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x{2}-15x+14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok workin on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you would have to factor using the 4 and the 14 and find factors that, when multiplied and added or subtracted, make -15 i got (x-2) (4x-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got (x-(15/4))^2+13/8 ..lol i made it more complicated i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can use the calc to get the roots too .. thats easier :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the TI series don't really factor, so it's good to know how to you have to facotr the first number and the last so: |dw:1314855279904:dw|
