could you refer me to where I can read/listen/watch about atomic physics? about zeeman effect, the angular momentum, total angular momentum, anomalous zeeman effect, transistions of electrons in an atom and what is allowed. preferably explained from ground up :) as in not making the assumption that I know a lot of exotic worsds:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, iam nt vryy suree, but just try walter lewin,s lectures(iam nt sure if he has givn lectures on this, but just try to check it in youtube)and in this one http://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not exactly what I am looking for... this is the sort of stuff thats before what I do... although i will check out the movie about angular momentum (since that is one of my weaker points) :P what I'm looking for is on atomic physics and how the atoms are built.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well,i thought u just wanted to checkthese stuffs out for leisure!lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wfcnEBMRq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nah, I am a student :P just a bad one, so i need more information so i can get a proper understanding. the link you gave with youtube had a "malformed video id" will check out the zeeman effect video though :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me as well, they explain things so i could have done it in high school :P have been to the mit open courseware before for this though and didn't find what i was looking for, tried academic earth and nothing there either... think I have to find some more places. for some reason university books wants to be seriously complicated :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha, at least you have a passion, don't loose it! it will get you far! start learning a lot of maths though, you will find it is really helpful later on with physics.... and everything else http://xkcd.com/435/ the comics says purity, but I look at it as the hierarchy for what you can understand, if you understand math you can understand everything ;)

for concept #15 and # 19 Mechanical Universe http://www.learner.org/resources/series42.html?pop=yes&pid=548#program_descriptions for mathematical application http://www.hippocampus.org/?select-browse-topics-alphabetical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u can refer to hyperphysics.com it has a lot of great topics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@plitter-HAAA!math!tats nt ma cup of tea!though iam interested in calculus!but iam nt a fan of math!well,"if u can understand math ,u can understand everythin"lol,i don't agree wit tat!no offence!well, everyone has diff opinions!and yea and thnx 4r tat tiny piece of advice!:)
