x^2 – 16x + 15 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first get the constant on the other side .... x^2- 16x = -15 now take the half of the x-term and square it... then the square to both sides add it to both sides of the equation... x^2- 16x+ 64x = -15 +64 simplify.... (x - 8 )^2 = 49 now take the square root of both sides.... ( x - 8) = +or - 7 x= 15 x = 1 u can check the solution by plugging them back into the equation hope this helps :)
