how to change y=-4/3x-2 into standard form?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

add the x part to each side

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you add, there is no negative in front; so forget what i deleted :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

stil not understanding.

OpenStudy (radar):

It is presently in the slope intercept form. It is considered one of the "standard" forms. If you are referring to the general form it could be expressed as:(4/3)x + y +2 = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that 4/3 part might be construed as improper form; might be best to multiply at all out by 3 just in case

OpenStudy (radar):

If that is what is desired, then multiply every term by 3 as suggested by amistre64. this should get you a "general" equation of: 4x+3y+6=0
