Estimate the limit numerically. (If the limit does not exist, enter NONE.) lim x^2-10x+25 / x-5 x->5 I made a table with possible x values and solved using those. My table showed that as x approaches 5 the equation equals -25 . . . but that isn't the correct answer. Does the limit not exist then since it's negative?

there is a hole in the graph at 5, so to find the limit you simplify the fraction (x-5)(x-5)/(x-5) lim= x-5 x->5 now using teh substitution rule plug 5 in for x lim=0 x->

lim=(5-5) x->5 lim=0 x->5 There that should look a little better

Ohhhhh I see what you did there. O_O I didn't even consider simplifying and canceling out to find the limit. Thank you so very much, that cleared everything up for me. =)
