PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!! I'M BEGGING YOU! 1.The first differences of a sequence are a constant -7 and the third term is 22, find the first 5 terms of the sequence. 2.The third and fourth terms of a sequence are 101 and 83. If the first differences are constant, find the first 5 terms of the sequence. 3.For each sequence, determine which differences are constant and what the constant difference is. a. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... b. 1^2, 2^2, 3^2, 4^2, 5^2, ... c. 1^3, 2^3, 3^3, 4^3, 5^3, ... d. Based on a, b, and c, determine how many differences you have to compute until

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

oops didn't finish until you find a constant difference for the sequence 1^4, 2^4, 3^4, 4^4, 5^4, ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. 36,29,22,15,8 2. 137,119,101,83,65

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

um can you show me how to do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 i worked back from 21 and added 7 until first term 36, then added -7 to 22 to get 4th term and another -7 to get 5th 2. difference between 101 and 83 = -18 so worked back as before by adding 18 to find 1st and second terms and added -18 to 83 o get fifth term

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

ok i understand that but the rest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm confused by number 3 a - common difference is 1 b - these are squares of 1,2,3,4 ... = 1,4,9,16,25 - difference is increasing c - cubes - increasing d - 4th power - increasing

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

im confused..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only constant difference in b,c,d is the base numbers 1,2,3,4,5....

OpenStudy (mathhelp346):

uh..
