How do you calculate for combinations formula on a scientific computer?

OpenStudy (chaise):

\[n! / (r!(n-r)!)\] Is this what you're asking? Where n = total number of options Where r = how many you're picking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand that, but how would you plug in that formula to find the answer using a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you hamy have nCr function

OpenStudy (chaise):

You have a factorial button on your calculator - look for it. Otherwise my calculate has a nPr and an nCr function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chaise the formual you posted is for permutaion not for cobination , isn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to have some calculator with Combinations function or you might have to create one...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once you click on that factorial button, what do you do afterwards to plug in the numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rdhss, can you post a numbric example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all the calculators now got these functions , nCr , nPr , check your calc.
