Identify one way humans have changed earths systems in: hydrosphere: Atomosphere: Biosphere:
Okay, if the hydrosphere is the water around us, the atmosphere the air and the Biosphere the living things (well systems) how do you thing humans have had an impact on these?
Each of these systems relies on one another to make our world support all the forms of life that reside on it. The hydrosphere is the water on the planet, oceans, lakes, clouds, precipitation in general. Water must move from the hydrosphere to the other systems to support life, because all living things require water. IMO water is more priceless than any gold or precious gems! The atmosphere is one of the mediums in which water is transported to other systems. By means of evaporation water can transport, leaving salt behind, and move into the biosphere where you and I live. The atmosphere also filters different light spectrum's and radiations from reaching the surface of the Earth. Each system is very fragile. Pollutants and over harvesting of resources can throw one out of whack and create a snowball effect that harms the other. For instance, if an oil company is drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and their rig fails, spilling oil into the Gulf, mankind has altered that environment. Of course the media only highlights the initial impact of the oil in the water, living sea creatures in the area die from the pollutant, but they never mention that this oil and water mixture is also damaging the water tables and evaporating into the sky and coming back down as rain. In this situation the water is not as pure as it could be, so plant life and humans hundreds of miles away from the spill will have polluted rain water falling on them. Plants will become sick, people eat the plants and become sick. Its a vicious cycle.
