so look to the digit to the right. it is 1. not enough to round up. thus it remains .80 This might not be relevant to your math class, but that 0 is considered what's called a significant figure. When working with inexact numbers, that 0 is actually important at the end, because even though it does not indicate any additional quantity, it indicates an additional degree of specificity
