Any help would be great, Can not figure this problem out! Write an equation of the line containing the given point parallel to the given line (-8,4);2x=3y+4

OpenStudy (amistre64):

parallel lines are the same equations; only the constant changes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

|dw:1315673053780:dw|

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(-8,4) ; 2x=3y+4 2x=3y+4 ; remove the constant, that +4 and replace it with an unknown 2x=3y+C ; now calibrate it with the given point (x=-8, y=4) 2(-8)=3(4)+C -16 = 12 + C -12 -12 ------------- -28 = C 2x = 3y -28 ; and put it into whatever form of line equation in calls for now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has to be in y=mx+b format thank you for your help
