in single variable calculus i have to deal more then 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 variables sometimes, then why its calles "single" o.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whatas the means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me an example.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

example finding a slope of a tangent line by derivative :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

single...because only one variable is actually changing ...i.e only one variable is an independent variable

y=f(x) is an example of single variable. your "finding" derivitves/ limits/ integration of single variables. just because y=mx+b like in your example, your actually only finding a function of x which is a single variable. implicit diff where you have y' and y in there, at the end of the day your only solving for y' or dy/dx=the derivitve with respect to x and single variable

ohh now i got it, thanks :)
