how would you find the reference angle for -175 degrees?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-175 is almost to the 180 mark; |180-175|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thank you! so would you use absolute value for all of these proble,s?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you dont have to, but it doesnt hurt. the ref ang will be a positive value; so just in case you subtract the wrong way it corrects itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think no... -175º is the same as 185º isn't it? 360-175=185

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and say if i was given sin 150, how would i find the reference angle as that? would it be sin 30?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-175 or 175; doesnt matter a hill of beans; theyare each 5 away from 180

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it would be 30 yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooohh thanks! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the reference for 185 is 5 and for 175 is 85 is it wrong? o.O

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol ... youre a bit off in the thinking there, draw a pic
