Solve the equation x^2+4x-11=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u want to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like factor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if u want to factor this quadratic equation, then the answer is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually it is not solvable, nothing multiplies to -11, and so it is impossible to get what 2 numbers would add up to the coefficient +4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@genius 12;thats what i was thinking as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have yu tried using quadratic eqn?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If ksisstupid, u read the the preceding comments, you would see the case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factoring this isnt possible like yu said, so i suggest genius12 use the quadratic eqn to solve this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x=-2\pm \sqrt{15}\] +use th completing the square

|dw:1315967203768:dw| btw barutoboy, how wud yu use competing the square???
