how do u find the components of a force along two axes which are not perpendicular to each other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One at a time. First find the component of the force along the first axis. Then find the component along the second axis. (In general, to find the component of a force along an axis, use a dot product of the force vector with the axis unit vector.) However, be careful! Unless the axes are perpendicular, you cannot isolate the force components and treat them independently, because they will not be independent.
