what is diffent b/w gasoline and disel?
diesel
They are different fuels usually produced through the refining of petroleum. Really they are just different fractions of a continuum of similar chemicals of different weights. These days both of these fuels can be produced from other sources too. You may have heard of biodiesel. The principle difference in their everyday use is that in a car engine they are burned through different means. Gasoline is compressed in a cylinder and exploded through a spark from a spark plug. Diesel OTOH is compressed so much that it gets hot enough to ignite itself. So you will find no spark plugs in a diesel engine. It used to be said that a further difference was that the characteristics of these methods meant that you would find diesel engines where you have high loads to be accelerated relatively slowly (heavy vehicles, like trucks) and gasoline would be used for moving relatively light things (eg sports cars) but accelerating them relatively fast. In these days of very fancy diesel engines and the turbocharger this is no longer so true.
