Writing 17 Online

This may not have to do too much with writing in general, but I have heard some 'rumors' that college professors are now using new technology to scan papers & the websites, such as Wikipedia, for copying of any sort. Not just one sentence, but there is a limit, like 1 paragraph. Is this true?

It happens in high school too. School boards invest in a program such as "Turn it in" and it automatically does a search online and compares your essays with the links that can be found online. Depending on the percentage of how much is highlighted from your essay and a certain one on the internet, they will contemplate on if you've plagiarized or not. Though you have nothing to fear if you quote a few sentences from the book.

Academic Institutions have to be thorough in their approach to eliminating Plagirism, So I would uprate my expectations to more rather than less and seeking after ORIGINAL thinking and ORIGINAL research etc from YOUR mouth NOT stolen from intellectual websites whoever they are. Respecting copyright is another part of this.

Wikipedia Academia is not happy academia. Neither is plagirising off websites cos you are too busy with your mates etc. Better to work hard and play hard, with academia you need BOTH to get somewhere and be happy in your Academic Institution. I would just get used to it.
